Make this simple baked ranch chicken for a quick, flavorful, and family-friendly dinner. It uses minimal ingredients and bakes up juicy with a savory ranch crust.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 packet (1 oz) dry ranch seasoning mix
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise or olive oil
  • 1/2 cup crushed crispy corn flakes or breadcrumbs (optional, for extra crispiness)
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Lightly grease a baking dish or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a small bowl, mix the dry ranch seasoning packet with the mayonnaise or olive oil until fully combined. This creates the coating base.
  3. If using, combine the crushed corn flakes/breadcrumbs and Parmesan cheese in a separate shallow dish.
  4. Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels. This step helps the coating stick and promotes crispiness.
  5. Coat each chicken breast completely with the ranch mixture, spreading it evenly over the top and sides.
  6. If desired, press the coated side of the chicken into the corn flake mixture to create a crispy topping.
  7. Place the coated chicken breasts in the prepared baking dish.
  8. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) and the chicken is cooked through and juicy.
  9. Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add 1 teaspoon of garlic powder to the ranch coating mixture.
  • If you prefer a cheesy topping, sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the chicken during the last 5 minutes of baking.
  • This recipe works well with chicken thighs, but adjust the cooking time as needed.
