Make this ultimate gooey hot fudge pie that tastes like a warm brownie. This rich chocolate pie is easy to prepare and perfect for satisfying your deepest chocolate cravings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (9-inch) unbaked pie crust
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • Optional toppings: Vanilla ice cream or whipped cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Place the unbaked pie crust on a baking sheet.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the sugar, flour, cocoa powder, and salt until combined.
  3. Pour in the melted butter and mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. In a separate small bowl, whisk the eggs, vanilla extract, and milk together.
  5. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Do not overmix.
  6. Stir in the chocolate chips. The batter will be thick.
  7. Pour the batter evenly into the unbaked pie crust.
  8. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes. The edges should look set, but the center will remain soft and gooey, similar to a brownie.
  9. Remove the pie from the oven and let it cool on a wire rack for at least 30 minutes before serving. This allows the gooey center to set slightly.
  10. Serve the warm fudge pie with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream for the best indulgence.

Notes

  • For a crispier crust, you can blind bake the crust for 8 minutes before adding the filling.
  • This pie is best eaten the day it is made to maintain the molten, gooey texture.
  • If you prefer a slightly firmer texture, bake for an additional 5 minutes.
