Ingredients
Scale
4 English muffins, split
1/2 cup pizza sauce
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1/4 cup sliced pepperoni (optional)
2 tablespoons sliced black olives (optional)
1 tablespoon grated Parmesan cheese
1 teaspoon dried oregano
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) or your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
Place the English muffin halves cut-side up on a baking sheet or directly in the air fryer basket.
Lightly toast the muffin halves for 2-3 minutes in the oven or 1 minute in the air fryer until slightly crisp. This prevents sogginess.
Spread about 1 tablespoon of pizza sauce evenly over each toasted muffin half.
Top each muffin with mozzarella cheese, pepperoni, and any other desired toppings like olives or vegetables.
Oven Method: Bake for 5-8 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Air Fryer Method: Cook for 4-6 minutes, checking halfway, until the cheese is melted and the edges of the muffin are golden brown.
Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and oregano before serving immediately.
Notes
For a breakfast pizza, substitute the pizza sauce with scrambled eggs and add cooked sausage or bacon.
To freeze for later, assemble the pizzas completely (sauce, cheese, toppings) but do not cook. Place on a baking sheet and freeze until solid. Transfer frozen pizzas to a freezer bag. Bake from frozen at 400°F for 10-12 minutes.
This recipe is budget friendly and works well for meal prep snacks.
