Make these simple, elegant Cranberry Brie Bites using puff pastry. They are a crowd-pleasing, sweet and savory finger food perfect for any party or holiday gathering.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed
  • 8 ounces brie cheese, cut into small cubes
  • 1/2 cup cranberry sauce (whole berry or jellied)
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • Optional: Chopped pecans for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Lightly grease a standard 12-cup muffin tin.
  2. Unfold the thawed puff pastry sheet onto a lightly floured surface. Use a round cookie cutter (about 3 inches in diameter) to cut out circles. You should get about 12 circles.
  3. Gently press each pastry circle into the cups of the prepared muffin tin, forming a small cup shape.
  4. Place one small cube of brie cheese into the bottom of each pastry cup.
  5. Top the brie with about 1 teaspoon of cranberry sauce. If using, sprinkle a few chopped pecans over the cranberry sauce.
  6. Brush the edges of the exposed puff pastry lightly with the beaten egg wash.
  7. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and puffed, and the brie cheese is melted and gooey.
  8. Remove the bites from the oven and let them cool in the tin for 5 minutes before carefully transferring them to a serving platter. Serve warm for the best flavor.

Notes

  • For a different flavor profile, substitute fig jam for the cranberry sauce to make Fig Jam Brie Bites.
  • If you do not have a muffin tin, you can place the filled pastry squares on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • You can assemble these appetizers ahead of time; keep them covered in the refrigerator and bake them just before your guests arrive.
