Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (12 count) package sweet Hawaiian rolls
  • 2 cups cooked, shredded chicken (rotisserie chicken works well)
  • 1/2 cup buffalo wing sauce (like Frank’s RedHot)
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack or Colby Jack cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • Optional: Ranch or blue cheese dressing for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the shredded chicken, buffalo wing sauce, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, and parsley. Mix until the chicken is fully coated.
  3. Slice the entire package of Hawaiian rolls horizontally, keeping the rolls connected in their original shape. Place the bottom half of the rolls cut-side up in the prepared baking dish.
  4. Spread the buffalo chicken mixture evenly over the bottom half of the rolls.
  5. Sprinkle the Monterey Jack and cheddar cheeses evenly over the chicken mixture.
  6. Place the top half of the rolls over the cheese and chicken.
  7. In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter, garlic powder, and dried parsley for the topping. Brush this mixture generously over the top of the assembled sliders.
  8. Cover the baking dish tightly with aluminum foil. Bake for 15 minutes.
  9. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 5 to 10 minutes, or until the cheese is fully melted and the tops of the rolls are golden brown.
  10. Let the sliders rest for 5 minutes before slicing between the rolls. Serve warm with ranch or blue cheese dressing, if desired.

Notes

  • For extra juicy sliders, do not overcook the chicken mixture before assembling. The baking process will heat it through.
  • If you prefer a milder flavor, reduce the amount of buffalo sauce or add a tablespoon of melted butter directly to the chicken mixture.
  • These are excellent served with celery sticks or carrot sticks to balance the heat.
